The Gorsky Kavkazi Jewish community (also known as Mountain Jews) is comprised of about 15,000 members, with the majority living in various parts of the tristate area.

Since opening its doors at the current location on Ocean Parkway in 2001, Gorsky Kavkazi synagogue and community center, Ohr HaMizrach, stands at the core of Gorsky Kavkazi community life. From life cycle events, spiritual guidance, programs for all ages, holiday celebrations, leadership initiatives, social services and so much more, the organization focuses on maintaining the unique culture of Gorsky Kavkazi Jews through these various programs and services, while propelling the community forward as part of the larger Jewish-American community. Beth HaKnesseth Ohr HaMizrach is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
