Passover-Nissonu Annual Food Distribution

On Sunday, March 26, 2023, Gorsky Kavkazi Synagogue and Jewish Center of NY – Ohr Hamizrach located at 347 Ocean Parkway distributed close to 1,000 enormous Passover Food packages to the community in honor of the upcoming holiday of Nissonu – Passover.

This year marks the 11th year anniversary of the Passover Food Packages distribution, a project initiated and made possible by Slavik Nisanov.

For the past 11 years, the Nisanov family has provided more than 11,000 food and gift packages to our Gorsky Kavkazi community!

The leaders and volunteers of the Gorsky Kavkazi Synagogue and Jewish Center – Ohr HaMizrach prepared days and nights to contact the registered families, obtain necessary products, put together and distribute these beautiful packages.

Gorsky Kavkazi Jews of NY – Ohr HaMizrach would also like to thank Mr. Ilhanan Israilov, Dr. Rafael Abramov, Mr. Roman Mardakhaev, Mr. Eldar Shayaev, Mr. Oleg Eliyahu Khizgilov, Mr. Maxim Davidov, Mr. Shimon Broin, Mr. Telman Pinchasov, Mr. Asaf Isayev, and Met Council for sponsoring and providing additinal food and produce!

Here is the list of items that were included in every package for each recipient:

1 pack of hand made matza

4 packs of machine matza

2 chicken

2 bottles of wine

1 package of nuts

3 bag of apples

1 bottle of oil

2 packs of black grapes

2 packs of white grapes

3 packs of red grapes

1 bag of clementines

1 bag of oranges

1 dz of eggs

1 bag of onions

1 pack of cucumbers

2 packs of potatoes

1 big bottle of grape juice

1 big bag with Gorsky Kavkazi logo

1 Hagadah

1 set of bedikat chametz
